I. Job Summary
Conducts inventory management for a fast paced and dynamic fleet maintenance department and ensuring that sites parts inventory levels are maintained and accurate to facilitate the maintenance and repair of a large fleet of commercial refuse collection vehicles. .
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and duties may vary by department.
Establishes inventory minimums and maximums for sites, as determined by Market Area Fleet policy and site-specific usage.
Places daily parts orders based off of site needs as determined by inventory reporting and special-order parts requests from Technicians
Identifies overstocked, low usage items, and obsolete inventory. Responsible for monitoring SOP/ILR inventories to ensure none are older than 2 weeks through collaboration discussion with Technicians and Fleet supervisory staff.
Negotiates the lowest cost, highest yield option for purging low usage or obsolete inventory from site.
Coordinates and arranges stock transfers between sites and other Market Areas.
Files warranty claims, arranges returns, and data-mining the Fleet database for campaign opportunities and ensuring all sites are submitted.
Responsible for overall stockroom and bulk parts organization and storage
Loads and unloads shipments as required.
Must be highly engaged with and responsive to both vendors and technicians related to parts needs.
Orders and stocks non-inventory shop supplies
Performs inventory spot checks monthly to ensure accurate inventory levels.
Must be able to effectively use a computer based inventory management system as well as programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
Must be highly detail oriented
Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned

This job has no supervisory duties.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Required: High school diploma or G.E.D. (accredited) and at least 1 year of previous experience.
Preferred: 2-3 years of previous experience
Must be familiar with Heavy commercial trucks.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
Valid drivers license.
Forklift experience preferred, must be willing to be trained.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
This position may require coaching of other employees and assigning work activities to other employees.
V. Work Environment

Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the work day;

Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements moderately.
Normal setting for this job is an industrial setting.
Must be able to work occasional weekends and holidays as dictated by needs of the business.
